Mr Andrew Davies

Andrew Davies BSc MD FRCS(Orth) is a subspecialist knee surgeon with 12 years Consultant experience in Swansea. Having qualified from St Bartholomew’s Hospital London in 1995, he completed his junior Orthopaedic training in Norwich and his Registrar rotation in Bristol. Throughout his training and career, Andrew maintained a strong academic interest and he has published over 20 papers in academic journals to present with over 1250 citations of his work by other authors. His MD thesis in Bristol was on the effects of wear debris from Orthopaedic implants. Andrew undertook Fellowship training in Lyon, France with Dr Phillippe Neyret and in Canberra Australia with Dr Peter Morris and Dr Michael Gillespie. Andrew was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Swansea in 2006. He is an excellent communicator who enjoys teaching and training the next generation of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as helping his patients to understand their knees and get the best possible outcomes. Andrew’s key specialist interests are the management of sports knee injuries, knee joint replacement, ligament reconstruction, knee re-alignment osteotomy and particularly the management of patello-femoral (kneecap) pain and instability.
