Dr Andrew Birnie

Dr Birnie is the lead consultant for the skin cancer multidisciplinary team in East Kent and is the only one performing frozen section Mohs surgery. He has been a consultant in Canterbury and Ashford since 2009, is the surgical lead for dermatology and specialises in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr Birnie is involved in the Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery International League whose main aim is to further the skills of skin surgery to a worldwide audience. He has taught in South Africa, where he worked for a year, plus Malta, Venice, Dublin, Dubai and Vienna in addition to regular presentations and teaching in the UK. Andrew still enjoys sport, in particular cricket and rugby, and is married with two children. He is comfortable in dealing with all forms of skin problem and aims to put the patient first.
