Mr Andreas Baumann

I am a Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon , specialising in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist. I qualified from the University of Munich Medical School in 2003. Following my surgical internship in Cape Town, South Africa, I became a lecturer in anatomy and completed a post-graduate doctorate degree at the University of Munich. I underwent basic surgical training at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals and then trained in Trauma & Orthopaedics in the North West of England – I was awarded the Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013. After completing my higher specialist training rotation in Orthopaedics, I completed fellowship training in Shoulder Surgery at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. Subsequently I undertook a fellowship in Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgery in Bristol before being appointed as an Orthopaedic Consultant in Upper Limb Surgery at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in April 2017. I have an active interest in teaching and research. I have published several peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and I am currently the Clinical Governance Lead for Orthopaedics at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
