Miss Hazlerigg is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Winfield Hospital, Longford and Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She specialises in surgery in the hand and wrist. She was appointed as a consultant in 2021 and provides both elective and emergency care for a wide range of hand wrist and peripheral nerve conditions. Miss Hazlerigg graduated from Imperial College in 2007 before completing her Core Surgical training in London. She went on to complete higher specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics within the highly regarded Oxford Deanery. During her training, she was awarded distinction in Postgraduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Trauma Science (University of London) and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr&Orth) in 2016. She undertook advanced fellowship training in hand and Plastic surgery at the Major Trauma Centre John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. Her clinical expertise includes sports ligament repair and reconstruction, arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) for the wrist, treatment of base of thumb arthritis including joint replacement and fusion, hand and wrist fracture management, Dupuytren’s disease, and treatment of nerve compression syndromes including carpal tunnel syndrome (pressure on the median nerve in the hand) and cubital tunnel syndrome (pressure on the ulnar nerve in the elbow). She has sat on the BOTA committee as Junior Representative, Publicity Officer and produced the JOINT annual journal. She has represented BOTA to the British Orthopaedic Association Professional Practice and Patient Liaison Committees. She currently serves as a Royal College of Surgeons College Tutor, supporting and overseeing surgical trainees across multiple specialities. Current memberships include BOTA, BOA, BSSH, AO, RCS(Eng). Miss Hazlerigg is committed to providing patient-centred, evidence-based care, working closely with specialist hand therapists to ensure that non operative options are fully explored before surgery is considered.
