Mr Alex Ramsden Mr Ramsden is Plastic surgeon with specialist interests in migraine surgery, lymphoedema and osteomyelitis (bone infections) and works in both the NHS and privately.  Mr Ramsden has been a consultant plastic surgeon since 2010 in Oxford, having trained in medicine and plastic surgery in the UK and Australia.  He has been performing nerve decompression surgery since 1998 and has quite literally been around the world in his medical career, working in Australia and for a brief but cold period as Doctor for the British Antarctic Survey in Antarctica.  Mr Ramsden is married with four children and lives just outside Oxford. For any one looking at the website there are some data issues. For lymphoedema surgery, I operate as part of Oxford Lymphoedema Practice. This is a group of 3 surgeons who operate together. https://olp.surgery/. This means that the numbers of patients on this website is totally wrong and my work is under reported due to the data collection issues of health care providers. Also my work doing LVA is classified as vascular surgery but I a not a 'vascular surgeon'. I work closely with orthopaedic surgeons for complex limb reconstruction and orthopaedic infection patients in the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre for both NHS and non-NHS patients. The surgery is booked under the orthopaedic surgeons and so doesn't appear under my name, so again, will not appear on this type of website. The final part of my practice is surgery for migraine and related conditions and I am part of the Oxford Migraine Practice with two of my colleagues and the same issues apply regarding data for this website. https://www.omp.surgery. I am a Plastic microsurgeon who operates on blood vessels, nerves and lymphatics. Semantics maybe, but the problem with websites like this is that they do not cater for niche specialties or super specialist operations like LVA. I therefore caution against taking my data on this website too seriously. As they say - rubbish data in = rubbish data out.
