GMC reg: 4112525I am a consultant interventional cardiologist and director of research and development for Newcastle Hospitals. I have a special interest in the treatment of complex coronary artery disease including chronic total occlusions and calcified arteries. With over 300 procedures each year, I am one of the highest volume operators in the UK. I trained in interventional cardiology in Edinburgh and Toronto after completing my medical studies in Leeds and PhD in Edinburgh and have won a BMJ Award for Education in 2014 and a Bright Ideas in Healthcare Award in 2013. I am a regular invited speaker at international angioplasty conferences and have published widely in the cardiovascular field.
