Dr Akhlaque Uddin

Dr Akhlaque Uddin is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist based in Nottingham, UK, with over 20 years’ experience in cardiovascular medicine. He specialises in both coronary and structural heart disease, combining advanced procedural expertise with a patient-centred approach to care. Dr Uddin was appointed as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Trent Cardiac Centre, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, in 2017. He completed his cardiology training in the UK, followed by a Post-CCT Senior Fellowship in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester. He also undertook an international fellowship in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, gaining further experience in complex and advanced cardiac interventions. His procedural practice includes coronary angiography and PCI (stenting), TAVI, and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure. He has a particular interest in the management of ischaemic heart disease and aortic valve disease, especially aortic stenosis, using minimally invasive techniques to optimise patient outcomes. Dr Uddin also provides expert assessment and management of a wide range of cardiac symptoms, including chest pain, breathlessness, and palpitations. He holds a research MD and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP).
