Mr. Ismail is a Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon, Gynaecological Cancer Clinical Lead, and MDT Chair at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. He completed his training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with subspecialty accreditation in gynaecological oncology, which has equipped him with extensive experience in delivering exceptional, patient-centred care for both general gynaecological conditions and complex oncological cases. He offers comprehensive care across the full spectrum of gynaecology, managing conditions such as menstrual disorders, PCOS, pelvic pain, endometriosis, postmenopausal bleeding, fibroids, ovarian and adnexal cysts, menopausal symptoms, contraception and family planning, vulval and cervical disorders, uterine and vaginal prolapse, subfertility investigations, gynaecological infections, early pregnancy care, and recurrent miscarriage. He also performs minor procedures, including hysteroscopy and colposcopy. Mr. Ismail has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic), as well as complex advanced gynaecological procedures, including severe endometriosis and cancer surgeries. His expertise also encompasses the comprehensive diagnosis and surgical treatment of all gynaecological cancers. In addition, he is a BSCCP-accredited colposcopist and trainer, with extensive experience in managing vulval, vaginal, and cervical pre-cancer conditions. He strives to provide a minimally invasive approach to his patients' surgical needs whenever possible, ensuring optimal outcomes with minimal recovery time. He has been instrumental in the development of ultra-radical and exentrative surgeries for advanced gynaecological cancers and has led the introduction of sentinel lymph node biopsies for vulval and endometrial cancers at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Alongside his clinical work, Mr. Ismail serves as an ESGO Training Supervisor and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Department of Genetic Genomics and Cancer Sciences, Leicester Cancer Research Centre at the University of Leicester. He is actively involved in medical education, surgical training, and clinical research, and regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals and presents at national and international scientific meetings.
