 I graduated from Calcutta Medical College then joined the Residency programme in General Internal Medicine at PGIMER Chandigarh, India. I was awarded MD (Medicine) and then joined as Senior Resident in Internal Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi before moving to the UK.  I completed specialist training in Gastroenterology and General (internal) Medicine training in 2003.  I have several publications in Gastroenterology journals. Working as NHS Consultant Gastroenterologist at Lincoln County Hospital in 2003,  I deliver comprehensive care for patients with Gastrointestinal and liver diseases (I do not see patients with infectious hepatitis). I am a highly skilled and experienced Endoscopist and an accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist since 2011. I perform different diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopic procedures. I have vast clinical experience in investigating and treating Gastroentestinal and liver diseases. I was the lead clinician for inflammatory bowel disease and Gastroenterology clinical Governance until 2022. After being on the post for several years, I have stepped down as Foundation Training Programme Director in 2019 at Lincoln County Hospital. My mission is delivering a safe, effective and evidence based treatment for all patients. I involve my patients in  clinical decision making process.
