GMC reg: 6148153Adam obtained his medical degree and master’s of research (Anatomy) from the University of Glasgow, before moving to Cambridge to pursue surgical training. He was appointed as a NIHR academic fellow in urology in 2011, which led to a PhD in prostate cancer molecular biology from the University of Cambridge. He is fully trained in all aspects of general urology, and developed his subspecialist interest in pelvic urological-oncology in Norfolk and Norwich and Cambridge University Hospitals, followed by a subsequent senior fellowship in robotic pelvic uro-oncology at University College London Hospitals. Adam previously held a consultant post with the Norfolk & Waveney Urology Service, before moving to Addenbrooke’s hospital, Cambridge in 2023. In Addenbrooke’s Adam is one of three members of the subspecialist bladder cancer team that manages high-risk bladder cancer. This includes use of a number of non-surgical approaches (eg intravesical BCG therapy) as well as radical surgery (including minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery) to remove the whole bladder and a full range of reconstructive urinary diversion techniques, including neobladder formation. Adam is also a member of the Advanced Pelvic Malignancy team, which involves surgeons from multiple disciplines and looks after patients with cancers that have spread to involve multiple organ systems within the pelvis. Adam is active in medical education, serving as faculty for a number of courses run by the Cambridge department of Urology, including the Emergency Urology course, the Cambridge Surgical Skills in Emergency Urology course and the Masters in Urology with Anglia Ruskin University. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has authored multiple papers in peer-reviewed academic journals. Above all, Adam is a patient-centred clinician, who always strives to ensure that his patients receive excellent and compassionate care of the highest standard.
