Mr Abdul H. Sultan

Consultant Obstetrician and UroGynaecologist with expertise in  Pelvic Floor and Anal Sphincter Dysfunction atCroydon University Hospital Hon. Professor at Brunel University, London Honorary Reader at St George’s University of London. Since his appointment in 1997, he has initiated and set up a Urogynaecology service in Croydon. Croydon University Hospital has been recognised as an independent Subspecialist training and tertiary referral centre. The unit has received the Hospital Doctor Continence Team of the Year award, and fellows and subspecialist trainees have received numerous awards for outstanding research. He has over 300 publications, including chapters. He has co-produced the first comprehensive textbook on Pelvic Floor, Perineal and Anal Sphincter Trauma During Childbirth (2nd edition 2024) and the textbook on Pelvic Floor Disorders. He is the co-director of the popular Perineal Trauma and Pelvic Floor Ultrasound courses since 2000. He is the recipient of the “UK Hospital Doctor of the Year” award, the RCOG Travelling Sims Black Professorship,  the Croydon Medical Society Lifetime Achievement Award and the British Society of Urogynaecology Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a medicolegal expert on perineal trauma
