Mr A. Iossifidis

I was educated at the University of Montpellier, Medical school, in France, qualified in 1983 and submitted my Thesis for an MD in 1984. I have worked in the NHS since 1985. My postgraduate basic surgical training took place in Norwich and Cambridge, UK. I then joined the Guys and St Thomas Hospitals higher surgical training orthopaedic rotation in London and was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon in 1997 at Croydon University Hospital where I developed the shoulder and upper limb unit. For the last 28 years my practice has been exclusively in upper limb surgery ( shoulder-elbow-hand)

My special interest include: Shoulder injuries, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder joint replacement, elbow and hand conditions and surgical outcomes. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh ( FRCS Ed) and member of the British and European Shoulder Surgical Associations. Keeping abreast of shoulder surgery innovations, I publish and present my research on shoulder surgery across the UK and Europe.
