Ms Kalpana Devalia

Mrs Kalpana Devalia is proud to be one of the few female bariatric surgeons in the U.K.. She trained in Oxford and London and completed fellowships in bariatric surgery in Belgium and at Homerton Hospital, London where she now works as a Consultant. Her clinical interests include Gastrointestinal surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and specifically Surgery for Severe Obesity, Diabetes and Metabolic disease. Mrs Devalia has a busy NHS bariatric practice and performs a wide range of surgery. She has carried out more than 600 laparoscopic gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy procedures. She has a record of peer reviewed publications and has a keen interest in bariatric research. She also enjoys teaching and supervises training fellows at her NHS hospital. Mrs Devalia developed a deep interest in bariatric surgery as she feels its incredibly rewarding to see the benefits for her patients. She feels privileged to be able to help her patients with their decisions and to be able to make a difference for them.
