This month both Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery (KIMS) and Chelsea and Westminster have both improved their Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections from requires improvement to good, with Chelsea and Westminster scoring outstanding for providing caring services.
KIMS was last rated in 2016, two years after the hospital opened in 2014. At that time medical care, surgery, and outpatient and diagnostic imaging were rated as requires improvement. Following the latest inspection in January this year, these services have now been rated as good across all five key questions on quality: whether services are safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
Similarly, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has improved since its last rating in 2014, where services including surgery were rated as requires improvement. The hospital is now rated as good for surgery, and across services received a rating of outstanding for providing a caring service.
