GMC reg: 4007104Prof. Myerson is a consultant cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, and an associate professor in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford. He is a general cardiologist, covering all areas of cardiology, and has a particular interest in heart valve disease. He is a specialist in cardiac imaging, especially cardiovascular magnetic resonance, and was head of cardiac imaging and physiology for the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust for 10 years until 2021. His clinical and research interests are in heart valve disease, aortic disease and cardiomyopathies. He is also an experienced cardiology expert witness for the courts and for the GMC, assisting in the assessment of complex legal cases. He has published widely (>130 papers), has given many national and international lectures and is editor of the Oxford Handbooks of Cardiology Emergencies, Valve Disease and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. He qualified from the University of Bristol and completed further training in London and Oxford.
