GMC reg: 2454412Professor Roberto Guiloff studied Medicine and trained initially in Neurology and Neurophysiology in the University of Chile. He arrived in the UK with a British Council Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Institute of Neurology where he continued training in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology as Registrar and Senior Registrar. After his appointment as Consultant Neurologist he worked at Westminster, St. Stevens, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Medical School at Charing Cross Hospitals. He has been Secretary of the British Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, Secretary of the Research Committee on Motoneuron Diseases of the World Federation of Neurology, President of the West London Medico-Chirurgical Society and President of the Clinical Neurosciences Section of the Royal Society if Medicine. He is a member of the Association of British Neurologista and of the International Society for the Study of Pain and of its Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group, and a Fellow of The Medical Society of London . He has published over one hundred papers, and two books, including editing one on Clinical Trials in Neurology. His published work includes the neurology of HIV disease, motorneuron diseases, peripheral neuropathies and clinical neurophysiology. In recent years he has been directing a research programme on diagnostic aspects of central and peripheral neuropathic pain.
