Professor Prof John Mayberry

I originally trained at the Welsh National Medical School (later to become Cardiff Medical School) and was an exchange student at the University of Minnesota. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, Glasgow and Ireland. I also hold both an MD and a DSc for my research work on gastrointestinal disease. I have a long-term interest in legal aspects of medical practice and was called as a barrister to the Bar at Lincoln 's Inn. I also hold an LLM

My main interests within gastroenterology are inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, pancreatic disease, peptic ulcer disease and oesophageal disorders. I am an endoscopist and perform both upper and lower gastrointestinal procedures
