Professor Ghassan Alusi is an eminent Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon. He is a Consultant Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon at Barts and The London NHS Trust, an Honorary Professor at the William Harvey Institute, Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry and a Honorary Consultant Surgeon, University College Hospital. He is deeply involved in research into image guided surgery, for which he was awarded a PhD by Leicester University.
Professor Alusi manages all adult and paediatric general ear, nose and throat conditions and has a special interest in complex sinus surgery and rhinoplasty, laryngology, complex head and neck surgery and thyroid disorders. He is a senior surgeon within the Head and Neck Unit at Barts and The London NHS Trust. He also operates privately at Bupa Cromwell Hospital and Weymouth Hospital.
Professor Alusi's general training was at The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear, St Bartholomew's, The Royal Marsden and The Royal Free Hospital. He became a Consultant at St Bartholomew's and The Royal London Hospitals in 2000.
He has further pursued his interest in research as Supervisor for ENT surgical trainees undertaking postgraduate degrees through collaborative work with the Institute of Cancer Research Fund. This work has produced a vast number of peer reviewed publications. He is also interested in Oncolytic Viruses for the treatment of cancer and gene therapy, focusing on gene delivery and the identification of new therapeutic options.

Mr Gus Alusi is a renowned Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon based in London. Mr Alusi has been a passionate researcher throughout his career. The University of Leicester recognised his dedication to his field through the research he conducted into image-guided surgery and awarded him with a PhD. Mr Alusi became a consultant in 2000 following the completion of his general training at some the most renowned hospitals in London (including The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear, St Bartholomew's and The Royal Marsden).Mr Alusi manages all adult and paediatric general ear, nose and throat conditions and has a special interest in complex head and neck surgery. In addition to his responsibilities as a Consultant in ENT, Mr Alusi holds a position as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Cancer at St Bart's and the London. Mr Alusi also dedicates a significant amount of his time with surgical trainees who are completing postgraduate degrees. He interacts with these trainees through his involvement with the Institute of Cancer Research Fund. The outcome of this strong collaboration between Mr Alusi and the medical postgraduates has been exceptional and has produced a substantial body of publications in a number of preeminent medical journals.
