GMC reg: 2304809Qualified at Newcastle University Medical school in 1976. Early training was at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Registrar years were under training by Prof Philip Stell at the Royal Liverpool and Alder Hey Children's hospital. Comprehensive training at the senior registrar level was in the Midlands at the various Birmingham hospitals. Appointed consultant to Bradford Hospitals in 1986. With changing clinical practices sub-specialisation is encouraged. My interest in and development of paediatric services and the introduction of Cochlear Implants led to the creation of the Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service. I established the Ear Trust to help develop and enhance services to the hospitals. The Listening for Life Centre was built in 2009 for regional services. Extracurricular activity has been wide. Previous Council member and eventual Treasurer and Trustee to ENT UK. President of section Otology - Royal Society of Medicine. Cofounder and past chair of the British Cochlear Implant Group. Uk board member for the European Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. Was awarded MBE in the Queens Birthday Honours 2015 for services to the NHS and Ear Trust Charity Extensive commitment to teaching and training. Regional, National and International. Current projects range from training clinical officers in Malawi to senior rhinologists and otologists in Seattle and Zimbabwe I am a trained GMC accessor and advisor to the Department of Work and Pensions I am pleased to acknowledge that I work alongside very good colleagues and together offer comprehensive management for ENT conditions
