Ms Sophie Renton

I have been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon since 1996. Throughout my career, I have been interested in teaching and training. I have held many educational posts including training programme director, member of the Vascular Specialist Advisory committee and member of the VascularSociety Educational Committee. I have been instrumental in the design and development of courses for Vascular trainees and I run an introduction to Vascular Surgery Course for medical students and junior doctors. I am an FRCS Examiner I was elected to the Vascular Society Council in 2013 and I am the elected Secretary of the Society. I have also a number of management positions in my own trust and I am currently an Associate Medical Director.

I am a general Vascular Surgeon and see, assess and treat all aspects of arterial disease excluding complex aortic and thoracic aortic aneurysms. I am interested in peripheral vascular disease, critical leg ischaemia and management of the foot complications in diabetics. I am also interested in the management of leg ulcers and venous disease in the legs. I have a large venous practice and specialise in managing varicose veins by minimally invasive techniques, predominantly under local anaesthetic.
