I have qualified in 2004 and underwent specialist ophthalmic training in London, of which 5 years were in the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. I have 15 years’ experience in ophthalmology. I specialise in cataract surgery for patients requiring monofocal or premium intraocular lenses such as Multifocal and Toric IOLs. In addition, I provide specialist consultations for patients with glaucoma disorders. In the last 10 years, I have undertaken a very significant number of eye surgical procedures (more than 1,500 Cataract and 300 Glaucoma procedures) in London and Cambridge with audited outcomes, which far exceed those recommended by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. My interest in glaucoma surgery led me to be successful in a scholarship with which I undertook a PhD in wound healing (2006-2009) after glaucoma surgery at the University College London School of Pharmacy and Institute of Ophthalmology. I then got accepted to the North London Ophthalmology training programme, the most competitive ophthalmology training programme in the UK. Subsequently, I spent one year as a glaucoma fellow at St Thomas Hospital in London, followed by two years in a paediatric and adult glaucoma fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. I was appointed consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals in 2019. In addition to my clinical work, I am proud to lead the newly set-up Glaucoma Addenbrookes Hospital clinic at the Vision and Eye Research Centre at Anglia Ruskin University.
