GMC reg: 4425311I have been a consultant colorectal surgeon for nine years at the Hampshire Clinic and Basingstoke/North Hants Hospital. I have developed an interest in minimal access surgery ('keyhole'/laparoscopic), which can be used to treat patients with a wide variety of conditions ranging from bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, to hernia repair. I have been a national UK trainer in two training programmes for minimal access surgery, initially with the LapCo programme for laparoscopic colorectal surgery, and more recently with the National Transanal TME programme which is a novel technique to perform rectal surgery. This has led to multiple publications in world surgical literature. A significant portion of my work involves dealing with problems caused by haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas, ranging from diagnostic tests to surgery. In addition, I perform regular diagnostic endoscopy examinations for a variety of abdominal or bowel related symptoms.
