Mr Saeed Mohammad has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon at Salford Royal Foundation Trust since 2001 and is Clinical Lead in Complex Spinal Surgery He current specialist interests are in Spinal Deformity, Degenerative Spine Disease, Spinal Tumours and Spinal Trauma whilst also dealing with Paediatric Spinal emergencies at Manchester Children’s Hospital and Salford Royal where there is a tertiary referral centre for spine related problems. He has expereince of the biomechanics of the spine and has supervised PhD students at Manchester University. Mr Mohammad teaches at Salford University. He also teaches undergraduates at Salford Royal. He is a clinical supervisor for orthopaedic and spinal trainees. he is also a mentor to spinal consultants. He has a particular interests in revision spinal surgery; particualrly complex spinal issues and spinal osteotomies. He believes ina comprehensive, holistic approach to the spine, keeping a close eye on indiviudal pateint needs, their particualr medical and social needs to tailor treatements specific to them. He has pioneered surgical techniques which are transforming to spinal surgery. he has extensively published in this field and participates in pan European outcome data collection & registry through Spine TANGO. This allows for comparrison of outcomes with peers. He has pioneereed and ahs extensive expereince in spondylolytic spondylolisthesis (Adult & Paediatric), degenerative scoliosis, Pars repairs, Boney Ostestomies of the spine including the cervical spine. He has previously hosted BASS in Manchester in 2017 and has lectured at Eurospine. He is involved in developing guidelines for treatment of degenerative scoliosis for BSS.
