I’m Ronnie Davies, a consultant shoulder & elbow surgeon. I’d like to start by telling you what to expect if you choose to see me.  If you are interested in my qualifications and training, have a look further down the page. I will listen to you about the problems you are experiencing with your shoulder or elbow. I will carefully examine you to help to work out what the cause of the problem is. If necessary, I will organise X-rays or scans to help to diagnose the problem. I will provide you with an expert opinion in clear English so that you understand what is going on. I will clearly explain your treatment options and help you to choose your preferred treatment. I will be available for you to stay in touch after you have visited. Although I am a surgeon, I successfully treat many shoulder and elbow problems without surgery.  My goal is simple: to get you back to your normal daily life, work, sport and other activities you enjoy as quickly as possible.  Above all, I love my job and get a great deal of satisfaction meeting and treating people.  You can be guaranteed that I will treat you with respect, honesty and with a kind and friendly manner. I am a local orthopaedic surgeon, born in Manchester, trained in Cambridge, Manchester and the famous Robert Jones Orthoapaedic Hospital, and now working at Wythenshawe Hospital. I offer the full range of treatments, including keyhole surgery and shoulder replacements, for all shoulder an elbow problems. I am particularly interested in using technology such as surgical navigation and 3D printing to make surgery more accurate and less invasive. I have a further degree in medical education and am responsible for the teaching of over 60 trainees in the region, as well as having national roles in surgical education.   I am married to a clinical psychologist and have two little boys who certainly keep my on my toes at home! In my free time, I like to play racket sports, enjoy cooking and spending time with family.
