Mr Rhys Davies

Mr. Davies qualified in 2009 from Cardiff University Medical School, also gaining an Intercalated BSc Degree in Pharmacology. He completed his foundation doctor training in South Wales before working in Western Australia until 2012. He was then accepted onto the highly competitive Ophthalmology Specialty Training programme, completing 7-years ophthalmology training in Edinburgh and gaining entry on to the Specialist Register in 2019. He has won various awards within Ophthalmology and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. Mr. Davies has extensive training in general ophthalmology and underwent further sub-specialist training in oculoplastics, lacrimal and orbital surgery in both Edinburgh and Cambridge, under the tutelage of world-renowned oculoplastic surgeons. He has since worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Cambridge and currently has a busy NHS practice in Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton. Mr. Davies offers cataract surgery using micro-incisional and sutureless techniques, and provides YAG-laser capsulotomy for post-cataract surgery clouding. He also offers a variety of medical and cosmetic eyelid procedures including blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, entropion and ectropion repair and excision of eyelid lesions, as well as surgical treatment for watery eyes.
