Mr Nigel Boucher

I am Nigel Robert Boucher. I was appointed NHS Consultant Urological Surgeon to Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Calow, Chesterfield on 1st January 1998. From 18th September 2017 I have been appointed NHS Consultant Urological Surgeon to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. My practice principally involves general urological problems affecting the adult population and includes the management of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and penile/scrotal pathology and its management. My sub-specialist interest is that of endourological management particularly involving renal stone disease. I carry out my private medical practice at One Health Group Sheffield, Chesterfield Clinic, Proact Stadium, Chesterfield; Claremont Hospital, Sheffield; and BMI Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield. My qualifications are MB ChB, Birmingham, 1987; FRCS (England) 1992; FRCS (Urol) Intercollegiate Examination 1997. Registration: full GMC registration from September 1988, GMC number 3254510; GMC, Specialist Registration in Urology from January 1998. I am an assessor for the Royal College of Surgeons, involved, each year, in a number of consultant urological surgeon appointments across the UK. I am appointed by the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations to be an examiner for the FRCS (UROL) examination.

My surgical practice is now primarily endourology and stone disease. However, I have extensive experience in managing and investigating general urological symptoms in both men and women, including haematuria (blood in the urine), urinary tract infections, and lower tract symptoms e.g. in men secondary to prostate problems.
