Mr Mr Jignesh Patel

I completed my junior training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and also a higher research degree in diabetic retinopathy from the Institute of Ophthalmology. That training involved three years in fellowships for medical and surgical retina. I have been a Consultant in Ophthalmology at Colchester for 15 years now, was the Clinical Lead of the Department and was the Trust's Patient Safety Officer for 2 years. Now the Clinical Director for Specialist Surgery for the Trust and sit on the Board of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists I carry out routinely cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses , retinal surgery and care and management of diabetic and macular diseases in the eye.

Special clinical interests are managing diseases of the retina, both surgical and medical retinal problems. Able to manage with medical treatments and where appropriate surgical intervention. Treatment for patients with diabetic retinopathy. Also cataract surgery for all patients, particularly for patients with also retinal disease and in diabetic patients.
