GMC reg: 6104125Mr. Matthew Kinsella is an Ophthalmologist currently based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. His NHS post is Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Stoke Mandeville Hospital. He is a general medical and surgical ophthalmologist and his areas of sub-specialty interest include primary and complex secondary glaucomas, cataract surgery (especially in people with glaucoma), and neuro-ophthalmology. Mr. Kinsella qualified in Medicine in 2004 with a Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery degrees at University College London. After 3 years of general medical and surgical training, he undertook his general ophthalmic specialty training on the prestigious Moorfields and north London rotation, also including Royal London, Whipps Cross, Queen Square, and the Royal Free Hospitals. He then undertook a further 3 years subspecialty fellowship and locum consultant training in glaucoma at Moorfields and Moorfields Bedford. Mr. Kinsella became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2014. In addition, Mr. Kinsella is interested in research regarding glaucoma. He has also adopted novel minimally invasive glaucoma surgical techniques including, iStents, OMNI, and newer PAUL tube implantation surgery.
