GMC reg: 4056634I have been trained in Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery in the North East of England. I obtained the European Certificate in Hand Surgery in 2004 and I have been on the GMC Specialist Register for Hand Surgery since 2011. I have attended and been certified in all the Instructional Courses in Hand Surgery organised by BSSH. This is in addition to the fixation and regular updates courses at Pulvertaft Hand Centre and Leicester respectively and Microsurgical and Flap Courses at Canniseburn Plastic Surgery Centre, Glasgow. I have attended and/or presented papers in Hand Surgery at Regional Plastic Surgery Meetings( 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007 etc); British Society for Surgery of the Hand( BSSH) meetings: 1998, 2001, 2010, 2012, 2014 etc; Federation of the European Societies for Surgery of the Hand( FESSH) :2018, 2014, 2012 &2004 & American Society for Surgery of the Hand: 2018 ( San Franscisco ) I have also published papers on Hand Surgery in peer-reviewed journals. I have undertaken extensive educational visits to national and international Hand and Microsurgical Centres, including Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Derby, UK (2004); Hand Surgery Unit, St James University Hospital, Leeds(2003) & Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery, Louisville, Kentucky USA (2011) My clinical interests are in Trauma- acute and post injury reconstruction, degenerative diseases, compression neuropathies and non-surgical management of wrist ganglions and Dupuytren’s disease respectively, including the use of Xiapex. Presently I am the local Principal Investigator for the on going UK wide DISC Trial. I published the experience of using Fibrovein as a sclerosant in the treatment of wrist ganglions (2006). In addition to routine training of rotating Plastic and Orthopaedic trainees, I have been involved in formal educational activity as a Visiting Lecturer to School of health, University of Teesside by participating in the MSc. (Musculoskeletal) Programme.
