Mr Jon Robinson

Mr Robinson qualified as a doctor from the University of Leeds in 1995.He undertook basic surgical training in both the Yorkshire region and North East Deanery.Following a period of research with Cancer Research UK at St James's Hospital in Leeds, he was awarded Docotorate of Medicine, MD.Higher surgical training was undertaken in the Yorkshire region, and before taking up his conultant post at Bradford Royal Infirmary in 2009, Mr Robinson spent a year working at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia. This allowed for dedciated training in surgery for colorectal cancer and in particular, minimally invasive techniques for early rectal cancer and benign  rectal polyps via TEM surgery (transanal endoscopic microsurgery).Since appointment in Bradford, he has developed this technique and established Bradford Royal Infirmary as the regional centre for the assessment and treatment of early rectal cancer. Patients with this condition are now referred from all Trusts in the Yorkshire region to Bradford for this specialist treatment.Mr Robinson was appointed the Lead Clinician for Cancer at Bradford Royal Infirmary in 2016 and is also a member of the High Quality Services group of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance.Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with is wife and 3 children, he is a keen cyclist, competing regularly in cyclocross in the Yorkshire region.
