GMC reg: 6160389Mr Sharp is a consultant ophthalmologist with particular expertise in cataract and corneal surgery. Mr Sharp graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2004 and the University of Oxford in 2007. He completed comprehensive training in ophthalmology in Nottingham. He underwent advanced subspecialist surgical training in corneal disease at fellowship level in Leicester, King's College London and Moorfields Eye Hospital. He learnt advanced cataract surgical techniques not routinely available in the UK at the top-ranked corneal hospital in India, the LV Prasad Eye Institute, as well as studying severe corneal infections and ocular surface disease. Mr Sharp is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and a member of the Bowman Cornea club. He is a member of the British Medical Association and is fully registered and revalidated by the General Medical Council. He has published on safety in cataract surgery, advanced techniques for cataract surgery and ocular surface reconstruction, as well as novel findings in the field of corneal disease. Mr Sharp is a surgical trainer for the East of England region, and trains Corneal Surgical Fellows at Addenbrooke's Hospital. Mr Sharp has been nominated for the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Annual Awards, and received a 'You made a difference' award for patient care.
