GMC reg: 1643873Qualified in 1974 at St Thomas' Hospital London. Post-graduate training in ophthalmology at St Thomas' Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street (GOSH). Fellowships in paediatric ophthalmology (GOSH) and neuro-ophthalmology (Wilmer Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore USA). MD on the clinical features, pathophysiology and management of idiopathic blepharospasm (1988, University of London). Appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and The Western Ophthalmic Hospitals in 1987. Appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Oxford Eye Hospital (OEH) 1991. Head of paediatrics and neuro-ophthalmology until 2015. Authorship of over 100 peer-reviewed contributions to the ophthalmological and neurological literature. Current research interests include the neuro-developmental and visual outcome following abusive head trauma in infancy. Currently, I have NHS clinics in neuro-ophthalmology at the Royal Berks Hospital, Reading and in paediatrics at Birmingham Children's Hospital. I revalidated in 2015 and have had annual appraisals to date.
