Mr James Forster

Mr Forster was born and educated in West Yorkshire. After completing a Medical Degree at the University of Leicester, where he completed junior doctor posts, he then moved home to Yorkshire. He began to specialise in Urology in 2003, and was subsequently awarded a higher research degree (MD) at the University of Leeds for research into the genetic involvement in bladder cancer, at Cancer Research UK. Following Urological Higher Surgical Training in the UK, Mr Forster acquired his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2012. He then completed a Fellowship in stone and laparoscopic kidney surgery in Leeds, and has undertaken complex stone surgery in Sri Lanka. He maintains an active interest in research, with over fifteen peer-reviewed international publications.

Mr Forster is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Bradford Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and has admitting privileges at the Yorkshire Clinic and Bradford Royal Infirmary. Mr Forster regularly treats patients with all aspects of general urology, including the diagnostic and therapeutic management (medical and surgical) of prostate and bladder conditions. He is the lead Urologist for the Metabolic Stone Clinic, which specialises in the metabolic investigation, prevention and treatment of recurrent and complex kidney stones. He performs all therapeutic procedures for kidney and ureteric stones including shockwave lithotripsy and minimally invasive endourological LASER surgery. He performs renal cancer surgery (robotic assisted partial nephrectomy, and laparoscopic nephrectomy).
