Mr Jalal Kokan

Mr. Jalal Kokan is a highly experienced Oncoplastic Breast Consultant with over 25 years of expertise in breast cancer and cosmetic breast surgery. Renowned for his proficiency and dedication, Mr. Kokan has treated more than 1,000 breast cancer patients and performed over 200 breast reconstruction, reduction, and augmentation procedures in both NHS and private practice settings. Mr. Kokan specialises in advanced breast cancer surgery, with a particular focus on lumpectomies combined with breast reduction (therapeutic mammoplasty), sentinel lymph node biopsy, and nipple-sparing mastectomies. He is also skilled in immediate pre-pectoral and sub-pectoral breast reconstruction using acellular dermal matrices such as Braxon, Surgimend, and Strattice, as well as latissimus dorsi breast reconstructions. In the field of cosmetic surgery, Mr. Kokan provides expert care in breast reduction, augmentation, mastopexy (breast uplift), and the treatment of developmental breast anomalies. He also performs specialised procedures including nipple reconstruction, areolar tattooing, and lipomodelling to enhance both aesthetic outcomes and patient confidence. Mr. Kokan serves as the Principal Investigator for international breast cancer clinical trials at Macclesfield District General Hospital. As the lead breast reconstructive surgeon and Surgical Lead for screen-detected breast cancers at MDGH, he plays a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge treatment and reconstructive solutions to patients. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr. Kokan is a Senior Clinical Advisor in Breast Surgery to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, where he contributes his expertise to support national healthcare improvements.
