Mr Harry Tossounis

My name is Harry Tossounis and I practice as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, University Hospitals Dorset, and the Nuffield Health Hospital in Bournemouth.  I completed my ophthalmic training at Wessex Deanery. During my training I worked at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and at University Hospitals Southampton Eye Department. Furthermore, I completed 2 Medical and Surgical retina fellowships, at University Hospitals Southampton and at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Throughout my training, I acquired the clinical and surgical skills and expertise required to manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions and perform high complexity surgical interventions such as complex cataract operations, secondary intraocular lens implants and complex vitreoretinal procedures. I have participated in several publications on peer review journals and continue the research work at my current role. As an NHS Consultant, I train the junior trainees of the Wessex Deanery Ophthalmic programme and lead on several teaching and research projects at the University Hospitals Dorset, Royal Bournemouth Hospital Eye Department.
