GMC reg: 7072170Harry Roberts is a consultant ophthalmologist specialising in cornea and cataract surgery at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Following completion of his ophthalmic specialist training on the Cambridge rotation, he undertook two further prestigious specialist fellowships at Southend University Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital before being appointed in his current consultant role where he is responsible for over 120 corneal transplants and 500 cataract operations per year. Mr Roberts is actively engaged in research and was awarded a doctorate (MD) from King’s College London for conducting the first major randomised controlled trial on femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He has published more than 45 papers in high impact peer reviewed journals including the American and British Journals of Ophthalmology and has authored an ophthalmology textbook. He is actively involved in education, including the training of junior surgeons and corneal fellows. He is a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists' Surgical Skills faculty as well as being the specialty lead for undergraduate ophthalmology at The University of Exeter Medical School.
