Mr Georgios Vasilikostas

Mr Vasilikostas is a Consultant General Surgeon in Upper GI, Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery (Weight Loss) at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. He is an active member of the South Thames Bariatric Service and also a member of many prestigious associations including the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS), British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) and International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO). He has a personal experience in Upper GI, hepatobiliary and laparoscopic bariatric surgery (intra-gastric balloon, gastric banding, gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy). He has developed a specialist interest in advanced laparoscopic minimally invasive “key hole” surgery including hernia repair, gallstone disease, anti-reflux procedures (Nissen Fundoplication, LINX system and STRETTA), recti divarication, sports hernia and endoscopy. Mr Vasilikostas trained at St Pierre Hospital, Brussels and completed a fellowship in Advance Laparoscopic Minimally Invasive Surgery at the European School of Laparoscopic Surgery, Brussels. He has a strong academic background with a PhD, peer-reviewed publications and many national and international lectures and presentations.
