Mr George Pavlou

Mr. George Pavlou is an orthpaedic surgeon working at Wrightington hospital (a tertiary centre in the UK) with additional practicing privileges at Euxton hall and Renacres. He is one of the regional surgical leads for revision knee surgery in the United Kingdom. He treats patients with cartilage damage and arthritis of the knee and his clinical interests are that of joint replacement surgery and is a key opinion leader in this field. His practice profile and outcomes are available to review and published at: https://surgeonprofile.njrcentre.org.uk George qualified in 2001.  He completed his specialist training at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital Oswestry, followed by fellowship training at the Princess Elizabeth Knee Reconstruction unit in Exeter.   He is an active member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Association for Surgery of the Knee, BAJIS, MRC revision knee group and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. George is the orthopaedic fellowship director for knee surgery at Wrightington hospital and has gone on to train many consultants internationally over the last decade.  In addition, he teaches other doctors on courses around the UK on how to perform knee replacement and revision operations.  He has an orthopaedic research interest and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed international journals and book chapters on knee surgery.  A full list can be found at https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov In addition, George was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association/European Federation National Associations of Orthopaedics travelling fellowship, where he visited centres in Marseille, Nice and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
