GMC reg: 7079915I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust specialising in Corneal, Cataract and Refractive surgery. I have been in ophthalmic practice since 2012 acquiring broad experience on an international level. To further my expertise, I completed both national and international fellowships during my training. I acquired experience in all aspects of corneal and anterior segment surgery at Ireland's leading specialist centre, the Royal Victora Eye & Ear Infirmary. I promote innovative practice and I perform all aspects of corneal transplantation including modern lamellar techniques (SALK, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK). I regularly manage keratoconus patients utilising only modern techniques including CXL (Corneal collagen crosslinking), Kerarings and CXL-PRK (Crosslinking combined with PRK laser). I have not only been awarded the prestigious CertLRS by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists but I also hold a postgraduate qualification from the University of Ulster, illustrating my extensive knowledge and experience in refractive surgery. I offer laser refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK and SMILE) in addition to Phakic intraocular lenses (STAAR ICL). For those patients looking to improve their outcomes beyond that of standard cataract surgery and wishing to decrease their dependence on glasses, I offer all modern advanced intraocular lenses (Toric, Monofocal+, EDOF, Multifocal). I am particularly interested in paediatric anterior segment eye surgery. I am the lead clinician for a well-established and busy NHS service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, catering to all patients in the region and accepting referrals from across the north of England. My extensive surgical expertise is reflected in the high volume of surgeries that I undertake, totalling over 1000 cataract and refractive procedures annually. I am extremely dedicated to improving outcomes for my patients and my complication rate is one of the lowest in the country. I am a training program director at the Yorkshire deanery, designing and delivering a training program to specialist ophthalmologists. I oversee the Corneal and Refractive surgery fellowship at Leeds Teaching Hospitals where I support the development of ophthalmologists from international destinations. My academic portfolio is far-reaching and includes lecturing appointments at the University of Leeds, the University of Bradford and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In recognition of my academic achievements, I have received over 10 national and international awards.
