Mr Dan Shaerf

Mr Dan Shaerf is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hand & Wrist Surgery. His NHS practice is at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. He graduated from the Royal Free & University College London Medical School in 2005 with Merit. He undertook a BSc in Orthopaedic Science at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Institute of Orthopaedics. After completing his specialist training on the North West London (Imperial) Rotation he underwent 3 prestigious Hand & Wrist fellowships at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and Brighton & Sussex Hospitals. Dan specialises in both disorders and traumatic injuries of the Hand & Wrist in adults and children. He has published and presented on varying topics related to Hand & Wrist Surgery as well as Orthopaedics in general. He has set up a Hand Surgery Service based out of Ealing Hospital in West London. He has a particular interest in thumb and wrist arthritis and uses cutting edge joint replacement technology. Dan is a Fellow of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Royal College of Surgeons. His a member of many specialist societies including the International Wrist Arthroscopy Society, British Orthopaedic Association and the British Medical Association. Having been involved in a road traffic accident sustaining multiple fractures himself, Dan has a real understanding of what it is like to be on the receiving end of orthopaedic surgery. This gives him a unique understanding and insight into the experience of his patients. When not at work, Dan enjoys spending time with his 3 children, keep fit and scuba diving.
