Mr Colin Hart

Mr Hart is the Service Lead for Acute and Emergency Surgery at the Royal Free Hospital and is heading up the Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Service at the Royal Free Hospital and across the North Central London sector. He specialises in complex abdominal wall hernias, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, diverticular disease, adhesions and other diseases of the large and small bowel. He also treats benign perianal disease, including fissures, fistulas, prolapse, haemorrhoids and is experienced in the treatment of other hernias and general surgical procedures. Mr Hart read Medicine at Leicester Medical School. He was awarded his MD in 2012 by University College, London. He secured the Pan London Colorectal Fellowship a year later and was then appointed as a locum consultant at UCH in 2014, taking up his substantive job at the Royal Free Hospital in 2015 Mr Hart is a Lecturer at University College London, teaching undergraduates at UCL and on the Royal Free campus. He supervises trainee surgeons of all levels and regularly delivers national courses for the Royal College of Surgeons.
