As a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, my interests lie in hip replacement, knee replacement, keyhole surgery of the knee (arthroscopy) and enhanced recovery protocols allowing patients to get up and go home earlier after joint replacement surgery. I also perform therapeutic injection therapy for painful hip and knee conditions. Currently, between hips and knees, I perform around 200 operations each year and have now performed several thousand! I was brought up and educated in Menai Bridge, Anglesey, and began my surgical career at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and Morriston Hospital, Swansea. In 2003, I was accepted onto the Oswestry / Stoke Orthopaedic training programme before spending a further year gaining sub-specialist fellowship experience in hip and knee surgery at the world-renowned University Hospital, Ottawa, Canada. I was appointed as a permanent NHS consultant at Leighton Hospital, Crewe in 2011 and within a year, I became the Clinical Director of Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery for three years, before being appointed Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) for the trust. A role I still hold today. I started my private practice in Cheshire in 2012. Fel Llawfeddyg Orthopedig Ymgynghorol, fy mhrif ddiddordebau yw gosod cluniau a phen-gliniau newydd, llawdriniaeth twll-clo ar y ben-glin (arthroscopy) a phrotocolau gwellhad cynt (enhanced recovery) sy'n galluogi cleifion i godi, cerdded a mynd adref yn gynharach ar ôl llawdriniaeth i osod cymalau newydd. Rwyf hefyd yn perfformio therapi chwistrellu therapiwtig ar gyfer cyflyrau poenus y glun a'r ben-glin. Ar hyn o bryd, rhwng cluniau a phen-gliniau, rwy'n perfformio tua 200 o lawdriniaethau bob blwyddyn a bellach wedi perfformio rhai miloedd! Cefais fy magu a’m haddysgu ym Mhorthaethwy, Ynys Môn, a dechreuais fy ngyrfa lawfeddygol yn Ysbyty Athrofaol Cymru, Caerdydd ac Ysbyty Treforys, Abertawe. Yn 2003, cefais fy nerbyn ar raglen hyfforddi Orthopedig Croesoswallt / Stoke cyn treulio blwyddyn bellach yn ennill profiad cymrodoriaeth arbenigol mewn llawdriniaeth clun a phen-glin yn Ysbyty Athrofaol byd-enwog Ottawa, Canada. Cefais fy mhenodi’n ymgynghorydd GIG parhaol yn Ysbyty Leighton, Crewe yn 2011 ac o fewn blwyddyn yno, deuthum yn Gyfarwyddwr Clinigol Trawma a Llawfeddygaeth Orthopedig am dair blynedd, cyn cael fy mhenodi yn Brif Swyddog Gwybodaeth Glinigol (CCIO) i’r ymddiriedolaeth. Rôl dwi'n ddal hyd heddiw. Dechreuais fy mhractis preifat yn Swydd Gaer yn 2012.
