Mr Anthony Quinn

I have worked as a Consultant eye surgeon in Exeter since 1997, both in the RD&E (NHS) Hospital, Exeter Nuffield Hospital and at Exeter Eye/Exeter Medical. My undergraduate degree is from New Zealand and my specialist training was in New Zealand followed by a Fellowship in Toronto, Canada, for 12 months in 1996. In private practice, my special areas of expertise are cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange (I am a vision correction specialist). My private practice takes place at Exeter Eye (www.exetereye.co.uk) and my private cataract surgery takes place at Ramsay Exeter Medical, co-located with Exeter Eye. I set up Exeter Eye in 2005 and Exeter Laser Eye Surgeons in 2008. In NHS practice, my special area of expertise is paediatric cataract surgery at the West of England Eye Unit for the South West region (Cornwall, Devon & South West Somerset) I am committed to training eye surgeons, and have been Head of School, Ophthalmology, for the NHS Peninsula region of Health Education England. I was awarded a national clinical excellence award in 2008, renewed in 2013, by ACCEA. In 2018, I was awarded the prize for 'Surgical trainer of the year' in the Peninsula Deanery.
