Mr Mokashi graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 2001. He taught anatomy and physiology of the eye at the University of Sheffield for one year. The majority of his training in ophthalmology was undertaken at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. Mr Mokashi has completed more than two years of advanced training in vitreo-retinal surgery, including a fourteen-month vitreo-retinal surgical fellowship at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre. In addition to seeing general and emergency ophthalmology patients, Mr Mokashi has particular expertise in treating patients with cataract and vitreo-retinal diseases. Mr Mokashi is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is a member of the British and Eire Association of Vitreo-Retinal Surgeons. He is a member of the British Medical Association and is fully registered and revalidated by the General Medical Council. He has a number of publications in the scientific literature and has presented his work at national and international meetings. Mr Mokashi trains ophthalmologists on the East Midlands Specialist Training Programme and international vitreo-retinal surgical fellows at the University Hospitals of Leicester. Mr Mokashi speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu and a bit of Punjabi.
