Miss Vickie Lee

Vickie Lee is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Imperial College (Western Eye Hospital and Charing Cross Hospitals) and London North West Healthcare NHS Trusts Oculoplastics, or oculoplastic surgery cover a wide variety of surgical procedures that deal with the orbit, eyelids, tear ducts, and the face. She has set up and is closely involved in Multidisciplinary Clinics and operating lists for orbital and thyroid eye disease in both Trusts and liaises with her OMFS, ENT, neurosurgical, endocrinology and radiology colleagues to ensure optimum care for patients with complex disease. She initiated the setting up of multidisciplinary thyroid eye clinics (with endocrinologists and ophthalmologists) at both London North West Healthcare and then at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trusts since 2012. She designed and chaired a session on a national initiative to enable equitable access for patients with thyroid eye disease at the 2017 British Ophthalmic Plastic surgery Society (BOPSS) meeting in London. She is currently liaising closely with TEAMEd group of the British Thyroid Foundation as chair of the BOPSS subcommittee to develop national standards of care for thyroid eye disease. She also has a specialist interest in the treatment of orbital and periorbital trauma and complex orbital pathology and collaborate regularly in a multi-disciplinary setting with her head and neck colleagues in the Regional Orbital and Facial Trauma Unit at Northwick Park Hospital and at Charing Cross Hospital. She graduated from Cambridge University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School and underwent her basic ophthalmic surgical training at the Western Eye Hospital, her higher surgical training in London and her fellowship in Oculoplastics at Moorfields Eye Hospital before taking up her consultant post in 2003.
