Mr Michalis Panteli was appointed as a consultant at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter in 2022. His specialist interests include complex primary and revision arthroplasty, as well as a wide range of trauma conditions. Mr Panteli studied medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, graduating with honours in 2008. He undertook his higher training in Yorkshire, mainly based in Leeds, and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2021. He subsequently completed the prestigious post-CCT complex and revision hip and knee fellowship in Exeter. Pursuing his interest in research, he was appointed as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the University of Leeds in 2015. Following the completion of his PhD on 'Molecular and biological profile on non-union tissue', he was appointed as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the University of Leeds in 2019, where he continued his laboratory and clinical research activities. His main academic interest lies in the field of bone healing basic sciences, including the sequelae of trauma, as well as hip reconstruction and replacement. He frequently presents his research in international conferences and has more than 60 publications in renowned journals.
