Mr Jamie Vatish

Mr Jamie Vatish is a Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon based in Birmingham, specialising in the surgical management of breast cancer and a wide range of breast conditions. He provides private care at The Harborne Hospital (HCA Healthcare UK) and The Priory Hospital, where he runs one-stop breast clinics focused on rapid diagnosis, tailored treatment plans, and advanced reconstructive techniques. He also serves as Lead Breast Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham, the UK’s largest breast service, delivering specialist care for patients across the Midlands, including those with breast angiosarcoma and inoperable breast cancer requiring electrochemotherapy. His work has been featured on the television series Surgeons: A Matter of Life or Death . He is particularly known for his expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery, combining effective cancer treatment with techniques designed to preserve the breast’s natural appearance. He is among a small number of surgeons in the West Midlands trained in partial breast reconstruction using chest wall perforator flaps, which can help some patients avoid mastectomy. Mr Vatish graduated with honours in 2010 from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in London and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He completed his higher surgical training in the Midlands before being awarded the National Fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at the Leeds Breast Unit, where he developed advanced skills in complex reconstruction and the management of implant-related cancers.
