GMC reg: 2714602Mr Fawcett read medicine at University of Newcastle upon Tyne qualifying in 1980. After SHO posts in Neurosurgery in Glasgow he joined the Tenent Institute of Postgraduate Ophthalmology there and held pots of Lecturer and Senior Registrar to Prof Wallace Foulds CBE. He did further training in St Pauls Eye Hospital in Liverpool as the first Vitreo-Retinal Fellow of Prof David Wong.

Mr Fawcett has a special interest in vitreo-retinal surgery including trauma, acute retinal detachments, vitreous haemorrhage, macula holes and retinal fibrosis. He also has a wide interest in general ophthalmology (eye / eyes) especially cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma, and age related macula degeneration.Mr Fawcett accepts referrals for private and NHS patients. NHS patients require a unique referral reference number (URRN) from their general practice.
