Mr Sharma is a professor in trauma and Orthopaedics at Hull York medical school, University of Hull He is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Hull University teaching hospitals, a level 1 trauma centre, where he provides a tertiary services in Limb reconstruction, complex trauma and bone infections. Prof Sharma had initial training in India and further training in Newcastle and the Yorkshire region. He has undertaken Limb Reconstruction fellowship at Belfast, UK and Lecco, Italy. Prof Sharma is involved in many training and educational programs with in UK & Abroad. He is an invited faculty on national, International and European meetings. He is an invited speaker to world congresses and national conferences across the world. Prof Sharma is course director internationally renowned Hull deformity course held at Hull, UK He is a keen researcher and working on developing PROMS for limb reconstruction and CI for PINS trial and multi-centre / International ACTIVE trial on Pilon fractures. He is recipient of total research grants worth over £4.3 million. He has published many papers and book chapters in peer reviewed Orthopaedic Literature. He is; President of British Limb reconstruction society (BLRS) and Chair of SICOT limb reconstruction committee. He enjoys reading, travelling and playing Tennis and Cricket.
