Dr Sean Watermeyer

Born in Jo'burg, South Africa  Obtained a First Class Honors degree in Genetics in 1985. Medical Degree (MBBCh) form Cardiff 1990. Spent 6 years in the RAF (UK, Germany, Canada, Bosnia) when I completed my General Practice Training (gaining MRCGP) and reached the substantive rank of Squadron Leader.   On leaving the military, retrained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in South Wales and was appointed Consultant at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in 2007.  I gained a research degree (MD) in gynecological ultrasound, whilst working at the Cardiff Assisted Reproduction Unit (where I was trained in fertility techniques).  I am a trained Colposcopist (BSCCP accredited), Menopause Specialist (BMS accredited) and am a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.  I continue in my current NHS post and have been Gynecological Cancer lead for 10 years.  In private practice, I have many years of infertility experience doing oocyte collections, embryo transfers, scanning and consultations. In addition, I do private menopause clinics at the Nuffield Hospital, Cardiff Bay.   I live in the capital city of Cardiff with my beloved wife, and our golden labrador, "Beano"
